The United States has extended TPS (temporary protected status) for Ukrainians, the Biden administration announced on Friday.
“The extension of Temporary Protected Status (TPS), as the program is called, allows immigrants to remain in the country with work authorization and protection from deportation for another 18 months after their current protection expires in the spring,” the publication explains.
This decision allows 103,700 citizens of Ukraine who arrived in the United States before August 16, 2023, to maintain their temporary residence and work authorization after undergoing a review.
In addition to Ukrainians, TPS was also extended for refugees from Sudan and Venezuela.
